Nestled into the heart of the charming Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago, this residence was designed with the homeowner's unique style and their heritage in mind. A neutral palette is accented with small moments of color and special patterns and textures throughout. A strong focus on greenery was added as the last layer of the interior design.
Upon entering the home, you're greeted with a custom live-edge console table, floating round mirror and glass teardrop sconces. At the end of the entry hallway, our client's artwork was featured above a modern credenza.
The dining room also features a custom live-edge table made by local artisans, Icon Modern, which coordinates with the custom entry table. The dining chairs have a cane back which is seen throughout the home to bring in a warm, handmade feel.
Pictured above, a small reading nook in the living room which has the perfect balance of textures - a chunky knit pillow sits on a boucle lounge chair with a rope textured floor lamp behind it. The neutral colors are broken up only by greenery in the space.
When you turn the corner and enter the powder room, you're surprised by a bold moment of color and pattern! Powder rooms are a great place to add a bit of whimsy and personality.
The primary bedroom was designed to be a sanctuary for the homeowners. The neutral palette is, again, accented by small moments of color and the use of plants. We added interest to this room by hanging blown glass pendant lights on either side of the bed. Looking to the patio, a 'screen' of plants and planters was used to give the illusion of a secret garden on their urban balcony.
Lastly, the nursery also doubles as a guest room when family is visiting. For this special little girls room, we used soft finishes, colors and furniture. Our favorite details in this room are the floating giraffe bedside lights and the pink fringe trim on the drapery- too cute!
We worked closely with this homeowner to portray their specific design and lifestyle. The final result is uniquely them and we both could not be happier!
